Prohibition began on 17 January 1920, with the Eighteenth Amendment. A total of 1,520 Federal Prohibition agents were given the task of enforcing the law. The Amendment was repealed in 1933.

It's interesting what we can find out when searching for our family history. I have done searches, found a cousin I didn't know I had and am still looking for link to another possible relative! Might eventually make a phone call but am a bit timid about it! And thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. ReplyDeleteMy paternal grandfather would often say, "We didn't descend from Kings, Charles." I found a few similarly "interesting" stories.
ReplyDeleteMy mother told me that she believes her father moonlighted in the twenties delivering bootlegger's booze. Maybe your great grandfather and my grandfather knew each other!
