Lest We Forget: A Conference on the Emancipation Proclamation


Coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the executive order issued by President Abraham Lincoln in January 1863, Prince William County will host its first conference on the cultural and historical significance of the Emancipation Proclamation on February 21-23, 2013. 
“Lest We Forget: A Conference on the Emancipation Proclamation” 

will be the first in an annual series of conferences focusing on African American history. 

Engaging a wide range of local, statewide, and national partners and organizations, this conference will include 
* discussion forums and dialogue panels, 
* keynote addresses, 
* paper sessions, and 
* guided visits to Prince William County’s historic sites and related sites of interest in Washington, D.C.

This insightful conference is free with attendees responsible for food and lodging. To register, please fill out the form below. Bus tours of historic sites in Prince William are $70.00/person and include transportation and lunch. Tours of historic sites in Washington, D.C. are $100.00/person and include transportation and lunch.
