Isn't it fun to find our ancestors in old newspapers? It sounds like your great-grandmother was a very successful farmer having had her garden for nearly fifty years. Another interesting fact was that she learned how to garden from her parents nearly fifty years before. Lots of fun facts for your research from one news article.
