Remembering Two Virgil Lee Casteel's of Tennessee


Virgil Lee Casteel, age 79, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Memorial services will be 2 PM Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to service Sunday. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Virgil Lee Casteel December 13, 1920 - September 16, 2009:  Casteel, Virgil Lee, 88, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the Medical Center of Manchester and went home to be with the Lord after an extended illness. He was a life long farmer and producer for certified soybean seed. He was the son of the late W.E. (Ed) and Tillie A. Casteel. He was preceded in death by two brothers, General L. Casteel and Buford K. Casteel and one grandson, Ryan L. Casteel. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Mildred Newman Casteel and three sons, Kenny (Connie) Casteel, Eddie Casteel and Benny Casteel; five grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Gina, Nathan and Nicole; four great-grandchildren, Cade, Rebecca, Aliyah and Alayna; two sister-in-laws, Ollie Mae (General) Casteel of Hillsboro and and Chieko (Buford) Casteel of Nashville; nephew, Douglas (Dianne) Casteel of Monteagle; and niece, Kathy Casteel of Chicago, Illinois. He was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 5-9 PM and the funeral will be Saturday at 2 PM at the Manchester Funeral Home with Brother J.C. Carpenter officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Manchester Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
