1797 Virginia Land Grant Issued to Larkin Hensley

Virginia State Land Grant issued  to Larkin Hensley on 4 Sept 1797, referencing a land warrant granted in 1782, for 89 acres in Washington County,Virginia, on Ketron's Fork, a branch of Cove Creek, on the waters of the North Fork of Holston River.  This area became part of Scott County in 1815, where a court case regarding this tract of land was filed by the heirs of Larkin Hensley in 1819.

James Monroe Casteel
Born 24 Feb. 1812 in Tennessee
Son of Abednego Casteel & Agnes Hensley
Married Susannah Underwood on 8 Aug 1833 in Knoxville, TN
They had 11 children.
James M. died 19 May 1886 in Macoupin Co. IL and is buried at Charity Baptist Cemetery in Bird Township.
